My work invites viewers to reconsider first impressions through sustained looking.
Through my experience as an architect, I learned to understand a structure through its details. That approach continues to guide my photographic practice. Working in both analog and digital processes, I use light, shadow, texture, and form to compose images that emphasize relationships, balance, and spatial tension.
I investigate familiar subjects with an emphasis on observation rather than recognition. Whether photographing the built environment, the human figure, everyday objects, or constructed compositions, I am less interested in documenting what something is than in exploring how it can be seen differently.
Hand-printing silver gelatin photographs is central to my practice. The darkroom is where each image is refined through time, patience, and intention. That tactile process reinforces my belief that making a photograph is inseparable from the experience of seeing it. Ultimately, I hope my work encourages viewers to question not only what they see, but how they see it.
